The two international workshops organized by the Hungarian Europe Society (HES) in October are entitled
"Sovereignty in the Era of Globalisation: V4Europe – Renewal in the European Union from Central European Perspectives”, which was held on 27 October 2017 (Friday)
and
"Reforming the EU: Central European Perspectives", which was held on 28 October 2017 (Saturday).
Péter József Martin, member of the Hungarian Europe Society, Executive Director at Transparency International Hungary made a presentation to HES members in Brussels on 6 June 2017.
On 19 April 2017 Anna Donáth, Barnabás Kádár and Anna Orosz, three leaders of Momentum Movement, were the guests of HES.
The Hungarian Europe Society organised an international workshop entitled "Reforming the EU - Central European Perspectives" at the Central European University, Budapest on 18 March 2017.
On 21 March 2017 the Hungarian Europe Society signed a joint protest declaration as one of its initiators against the threats presented by the Hungarian government to civil organisations.
David van Cleve, First Counsellor of the Embassy of the United States of America to Hungary was the guest of HES in Brussels on 27 September 2016.
On 6 June 2016 Szabolcs Panyi, editor-journalist of Index online journal and Csaba Tóth, strategic director of Republikon Institute held presentations about the US presidential election.
Gajus Scheltema, Ambassador of the Royal Netherlands Embassy to Hungary was the guest of HES on 24 May 2016. The discussion included the priorities elaborated by the Dutch Presidency of the EU Council as well as the challenges facing the European integration. The ambassador called the EU-Turkey agreement a break-through in the management of the migration crisis. He expressed his optimism about the EU membership of Great Britain considering the recent polls about the outcome of the referendum: the country will remain in the European Union.
A toolkit about human rights was completed by the Foundation for Democratic Youth (DIA) for the request of the Hungarian Europe Society in the framework of the "Do We Have European Citizen Rights?" project in February 2016. Rita Galambos included the outcomes of the trainings in secondary schools supported by the project into the methodological description.
The Hungarian Europe Society held its traditional annual workshop and general electoral assembly on 3 January 2016. Firstly András Schweitzer gave a presentation entitled “Party competition and democracy: Has the left-right division become senseless (again)?” Following his speech, Dorka Horváth addressed the audience with her thoughts under the title: “Clicktivism”: online political movements”.
In the framework of the Citizen-rights project trainers of the Foundation for Democratic Youth in co-operation with the Hungarian Europe Society held sessions about democratic rights and responsibility for altogether hundred students of the Petrik Lajos Bilingual Secondary School, the Alternative Secondary School of Economics, the Városmajori Secondary School and the Politechnikum between November 2015 and January 2016.
Julie Smith, Director of the European Centre at the Department of Politics and International Studies, Cambridge University made a presentation entitled "Reform, renegotiation, referendum - prospects for Britain and the EU" on 21 November 2015.
The Budapest training of the Create/React program took place between 16-18 October 2015 in the framework of the European Citizen Rights project. The workshop was organised by HES in cooperation with the European Alternatives.
The Hungarian Europe Society organised a workshop entitled "Illiberal democracies – what can the European Union do in case a member state regularly and systematically breaches European values and regulations?" on 2 June 2015 in the European Parliament, Brussels.
