The Hungarian Europe Society held а discussion evening entitled "The secret police past and the openness of files" on 23 May 2012. Its focus was on the historical and political aspects of the still open question of the communist secret police informers. The invited presenters were the historian László Varga and HES member József Gulyás, who was a member of the National Security Committee of the Hungarian Parliament until 2010.
