On 29 June 2012, László Andor, Member of the European Commission for Employment, Social affairs and Inclusion was the invited guest of the Hungarian Europe Society.
First, the Commissioner described how and according to what considerations the Heads of State and Government of the European Union agreed upon the creation of the new banking supervision system at their summit. According to Andor, the establishment of the banking union is a significant step forward and a breakthrough in the process of the European crisis management.

Then, Andor talked about the Roma strategy of the EU, and about the methods how the European Union and the Member States can seek ways to promote the social recovery of Europe's Roma population. Thereafter, a conversation took place amongst the participants about the problematic relations between Hungary and the European Union.
