The Hungarian Europe Society organised a workshop with Hungarian experts entitled "The Renewal of Liberal Democracy: Strategy, Vision, Competition, Parties, Civil Society" on 20 April 2023 at the Ibis Styles Budapest Center.
On 15 December 2022 Antal Örkény, sociologist gave a presentation entitled "Identities and Identity Politics" at the seat of the Hungarian Europe Society. Further on at the annual meeting, István Hegedűs was elected to chairman, Emma Gothár, Erik Uszkiewicz and Zselyke Tófalvi to vice-chairpersons, Anita Bakos, Kata Nagy and Zsófia Stahl to members of the supervisory committee of HES.

Once again, it was the Hungarian Europe Society that organised the study tour of the fellows of the German Marshall Fund in Budapest and the Danube band. Ahnna Smith, Matthew King, Alissa Shelton and Dylan Tête met numerous representatives of the Hungarian political scene and civil society between 1-6 April 2022.

WATCH THE CONFERENCE RECORDINGS ON HES'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL
The Hungarian Europe Society has provided a platform for political analysts, policy experts, intellectuals, civil society activists and citizens from the Central European region, the European Union and the United States of America in order to analyse new global trends and seek solutions to current political, cultural and economic dilemmas. At our forthcoming event we intend to discuss with our guests the growing challenges of great power politics and their security implications, inequality in all its forms and the need of economic recovery, climate change as well as the pressure of anti-liberal, populist forces in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. This conference is also a closing event of our webinar series held in 2020-21 under the same title.
At the extraordinary assembly of the Hungarian Europe Society on 23 August 2023, Ildikó Mislai Birizdóné was elected as a member of the board. The financial report about the year 2020 was also approved. Following the session, Mónika Kovács made a presentation entitled "Illiberal Strawman or Equal Dignity and Equal Opportunities".
