Putin's War

István Hegedűs participated at the virtual meeting of LIBSEEN (Liberal South East European Network) Steering Committee on 27 February 2022. The committee adopted its common support of Ukraine and against the aggression by the Russian authorities.

Key messages:

1. We strongly condemn Russia’s armed military attack on the sovereign state of Ukraine and demand an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of the Russian army. Only those who respect international law and diplomatic conflict resolution are on the right side of history.
#StandWithUkraine

2. The situation in Ukraine has already forced people to flee their homes. That is why those people are in urgent need of shelter & emergency aid. The international community must help. In these hours, our thoughts and compassion are with the people of Ukraine
#humanity #solidarity

3. We are very concerned that the Ukrainian crisis will spread to the Western Balkans and spark the fires in countries where the conflicting nationalist tendencies of some have been present for some time. We are particularly concerned about developments in #BiH and #Montenegro.
